Released in 1990, the WAVESTATION is a synthesizer with an advanced vector synthesis system that could create new sounds by combining and connecting multiple waveforms. Using unique features such as using a joystick to mix and morph four oscillators, a wave sequence function that could arrange waveforms in sequences to form rhythm or melody sequences patterns, it continues to be a legendary and irreplaceable instrument to this day,

The KORG Collection WAVESTATION V2 is an upgrade of the WAVESTATION software from 2004 and has been refined for modern production environments. We added the much requested high-resolution and scalable interface. The preset sounds include all 1,500 programs, including those from the expansion ROM cards, giving the famous WAVESTATION sounds through the latest software as a plug-in.

 KEY FEATURES:
  • A complete reproduction of the advanced vector synthesis system.
  • High-resolution interface for Retina and 4K.
  • 1,500 programs, more than 700 waveforms.
  • Features a new sound browser for quickly searching by instrument/character.
  • A powerful random sequence engine.

A complete reproduction of the advanced vector synthesis system
The WAVESTATION was the first synthesizer that enabled wave sequencing. A wave sequence cross-fades a variety of waveforms, smoothly connecting these waveforms to let you play them. The WAVESTATION differs most greatly from other synthesizers in how it lets you freely design and play wave sequences. When you create a patch using multiple oscillators, the WAVESTATION lets you use vector synthesis to freely configure how the sound is modulated.

In the KORG Collection WAVESTATION providing the sounds from all PCM memories of the WAVESTATION. The new iWAVESTATION also reproduces in software every detail of each parameter. For the hardware, we analyzed the circuit diagrams of the original design, and completely replicated the circuitry in software down to the last detail. Engineers with an exhaustive knowledge of the WAVESTATION made careful adjustments in order to obtain the sound of the original instrument, something that cannot be obtained simply by sampling the original sounds.

High-resolution interface for Retina and 4K
We have made major GUI refinements to the KORG Legacy Collection WAVESTATION software released in 2004. Its high-resolution graphics that will make it fit into modern Retina & 4K environments. By supporting six levels of scalability, usability has been drastically improved. Enjoy features that are easy to use and give a sense of satisfaction which are unique to the Polysix and control many parameters such as patching, at a high resolution.

1,500 programs, more than 700 waveforms
The moving pad sounds and rhythmic percussion sounds that were unique to WAVESTATION were not only used in contemporary music of the day, but were also prominently used in movies, TV programs, stage plays and exhibitions. The KORG Collection WAVESTATION comes with extensive preset programs and waveforms from all models of the series: WAVESTATION, WAVESTATION EX, WAVESTATION A/D, and WAVESTATION SR. It also comes with 6 types of optional PCM/program cards that were popular at the time, and a total of 7 KLC cards are newly added to the KORG Legacy Collection. With more than 1,500 preset sounds, more than 700 waveforms, and 55 effects, you can create a limitless number of sounds.

Program browser for quickly searching sounds
Selecting and searching through a massive number of preset programs can sometimes take your mind to places far away from your original music production. KORG Collection WAVESTATION V2 has been updated to include an easy-to-use program browser. Using two types of tags that let you filter by instrument category and sound character, allowing you to easily find the sound you are looking for.

 A powerful random sequence engine
WAVESTATION, with its unique wave sequence system allows for flexible editing, but it can be hard for some users to create everything from zero. Because of this, KORG Collection WAVESTATION 2 has a new random sequence functionality which automatically creates new sounds at the touch of a button to provide endless inspiration.
